This is a return to a property we carried out some repointing on previously. This time we have been asked to repoint the rear elevation. The raking out process showed an historic crack on the top right of the elevation which is believed to be non-progressive due to the fact it had been repointed previously and the cracks hadn't opened back up again. 3 helibars were fitted to this elevation as a belt-and-braces approach and repointed. The left image below shows the approximate locations they were fitted. The lowest helibar was to accomodate a lack of bonding in a section of previously rebuilt brickwork. The window arches have seen better days and likely dropped when the original timber frames were removed to be replaced with the current timber frames. The detailing around these windows was fitted around the dropped arch sections and there is no evidence of progressive movement so they have been left alone. Beyond that the job was a basic rake out and repoint process with brick replacement where appropriate.
