Grade II listed living room lath and lime plastering

This room had been neglected for some time with various inappropriate repairs. One of the walls was an internal partition and the other a stone, external wall. The internal partition had been covered in plasterboard then top coated with gypsum plaster. The stone wall was plastered with a cement-based plaster.

Plaster Removal and re-lath:

The plasterboard and cement-based plasters were removed from the walls. The internal partition wall was then lathed. Studs were added to the frame specifically for the cast iron radiators - as in some cases they were mounted onto plasterboard alone.

This room was plastered with 2 coats of hot-mixed quicklime with a lime putty topcoat.
